Thank You Friend

My good friend Linda took me to lunch on my birthday!  We went to the new Olive Garden in town and had delicious food!  We spent three hours shooting the breeze and catching up.  I made her a Thank You card with one of her favorite characters on it.
That's right...it's Tigger!  The pattern was made by one of the girls in my Iris Folding group.  Isn't it cute!!!  I added a sticker sentiment and sticker flowers to the front of the card base after attaching stripes in the Tigger colors.  On the inside I wrote a personal note.

Teabag Wings

Last summer I needed a thank you card and decided to make the following.

This is my version of a card I found on Card Inspirations.  The butterfly is teabag folding or origami and the flowers are both punched with Paper Studio punches and attached with a brad.

Thanks for the Memories

Two of my "bestest" buddies took me to lunch on my birthday last year.  We had a fantastic lunch at Napolitos and I even got a personal sized birthday cake!  I received presents and cards and comradery...my best birthday lunch ever!
I made a "Thank You" card for each made with the "Lace' Method" also known as "Incire" or "Lattice" or "Cut and Tuc" or "Cut andFfold".  I cut the white cardstock to the size I wanted and glued a piece of patterned paper to one side of it and let it dry under a pile of books.

Incire involves using a template or pattern, cutting along the lines and folding and tucking.  I wanted my folds to stand out more so that is why I added the patterned paper.  When you fold back the cut section the pattern shows in contrast to the white.

After the paper dried I used a template (American Traditional-"wide arrow") and cut as instructed on the package. Then one by one you fold the larger cut sections up and back and crease.  Finally, you tuck each large point  under each smaller point.  For a good visual go to this tutorial.
The first card was attached to a purple card base and the second to a white card base.  The flowers on each were purchased and I attached them with black brads.  The "thank you" on each is a sticker.

Thanks for the Memories

Had lunch the other day with a good friend of mine (Bernie Baby).  It was so good to get out of the house and "shoot the breeze" and combine that with good food!  After getting home I decided to get out one of my favorite punches from Martha Stewart and make a thank you card.

I cut the top a little shorter on the leading edge and then punched out a white card that was the same dimension as the original top.  I then glued the white to the inside of the front and this edge has the darker color behind it when closed.

This is a scanned image (thus the difference in shade from the first photo).  This illustrates how the "thanks border" shows against the back page of the card.

I took a rectangle and punched around the edges as you can see.  I decided it reminded me of spirelli so I used a shiny bronze thread to wrap the the shape simply.  I attached it to the front of the card with glue stick.  I use glue sticks a lot.  To keep the paper from curling and to make sure the glue holds well I weight the card down with something heavy (usually a stack of books).  The amount of time I leave it to be "pressed" depends on the amount of glue and number of layers.

I did some "cutting and pasting and punching" and created an area on the inside to write a message.
